Sadio Mane up against Arsenal and Man City stars for African Premier League award

Liverpool star Sadio Mane has been shortlisted by the New African Soccer Awards for December 2016’s Premier League Player of the Month gong.

According to AfricanFootball.com, Mane is in the final three against Arsenal’s Alex Iwobi and Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure.

Senegal international Mane played six Premier League games in December, scoring two goals and providing two assists.

His most memorable contribution was his stoppage-time winner against Everton in the Merseyside Derby.

Mane was also on the scoresheet as the Reds lost 4-3 at Bournemouth.

His assists came in that Bournemouth game and in the 2-2 draw with West Ham seven days later.

Ivorian Toure’s only December goal came in City’s 3-0 win at Hull, while Nigerian Iwobi netted in Arsenal’s victories over Stoke and Crystal Palace.
