Liverpool fans have woken up in a mighty good mood today.
Not only is Coutinho fit to start against Southampton in the EFL Cup semi-final tonight at Anfield, but the Brazilian has just signed a five-year contract extension to boot.
His deal keeps him at the club until summer 2022 and he’s now deservedly our highest paid player, too.
Naturally, supporters have welcomed the news, after consistent rumours that linked our no.10 to the likes of Barcelona and PSG.
If he does leave at some point, it’ll be for a monstrous fee – but hopefully Coutinho will be able to fulfil his ambitions here with us.
He’s got one of the world’s best managers to work under and some fantastic team-mates such as Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane, Adam Lallana and Jordan Henderson.
Coutinho though is the jewell in Liverpool’s crown, and this response on Twitter reflects that fully.
