This evening, Liverpool’s summer signing Sadio Mane scored a brace in the first-half which capped off a truly stunning individual 45 minutes.
The Senegalese was a constant thorn in Tottenham’s defence and in truth, could have easily secured his hat-trick.
Liverpool spent over £30m on the 24-year-old, but he’s proven an absolute bargain.
His brace so far puts him on 11 Premier League goals for the season, making him the top scoring player who doesn’t play up top. Spurs’s Dele Alli is also on 11 but the Englishman hasn’t been able to touch Mane today.
Quite rightly, Liverpool’s fans lost the plot online:

Sadio Mané is the best signing that this football club has made since Luis Suarez. Outrageously talented footballer. Borderline world class.

99% of full backs in the league would struggle to keep Sadio Mané at bay if given no protection from the wide midfielder in front of them…

Pace, third man runs, pressing, energy. Sadio Mane’s return has been cathartic for the previously listless Liverpool.

Sadio Mane has now scored 11 Premier League goals in his first season at Liverpool, spent most of January at the AFCON too. What a buy.
