Updates on Henderson & Sturridge injuries: Good news & bad news

Jordan Henderson has travelled to Tenerife to continue rehabilitation on his foot injury, in the hope to join in some of the training sessions during the week-long warm weather trip, reports the Echo.

Daniel Sturridge though has not travelled and will continue trying to recover from his ambiguous hip injury at Melwood…

The fact Henderson has joined the squad gives him a chance of returning for the Merseyside Derby, but with Emre Can in such excellent form in the holding midfield role, it’s unsure which Jurgen Klopp will plump for.

Most of Liverpool’s first-team squad are on international duty this week, including Ben Woodburn and Harry Wilson who’ve been called up to the Wales squad, and Roberto Firmino and Coutinho, who face a gruelling trip to South America.

Those who’ve travelled to Tenerife include: Dejan Lovren, Joel Matip, Loris Karius, James Milner, Alex Manninger, Lucas Leiva, Sheyi Ojo, Kevin Stewart, Connor Randall and Alberto Moreno, along with youngsters like Yan Dhanda and Rhian Brewster.
