Juventus have ‘secret’ plan to secure LFC star in January

Despite what CEO Beppe Moratta said earlier this week, Juventus may indeed move for Emre Can in January, reports calciomercato in an exclusive.

The Italian outlet claim Moratta’s, ‘I don’t think it will be in January,’ quote, is merely posturing in an attempt not to annoy Liverpool – who are already angry at the fact Can’s yet to renew.

Our German midfielder’s contract expires in the summer and if he doesn’t put pen to paper before 2018, Juve can freely approach him about a Bosman transfer in January.

Alternatively, they can offer Liverpool a cut-price transfer fee and secure him this winter, six months before his deal runs out…

Liverpool will surely only let this happen if in turn we can capture Naby Keita early. The Guinean is scheduled to arrive on July 1 2018, but we could also offer Rb Leipzig an additional fee to secure his services in January.

Either way, it doesn’t look at the moment like Can’s long-term future is at Liverpool, with the Echo reporting yesterday that negotiations are at a standstill.
