It was a weird, horrible feeling when Rafa Benitez took charge of Chelsea for a bit, made only bearable by the fact he so clearly hated the club and their fans – and they him!
Thankfully, he’s not going to take charge of our rivals Everton, which would be a step too far…
Our former Champions League winning boss was discussing links to the vacant Everton job, which has become available after Ronald Koeman spent £150m, made his team worse and got the boot
Rafa is happy at Newcastle, who are doing a solid job upon their Premier League return, and isn’t going anywhere.
“I heard people talking, but I am happy here,” he told the Echo.
“I am concentrating on this, I don’t like to talk about rumours.
“The reality, obviously, is that my family is in Liverpool, but my past was Liverpool.
“I’m saying I’m happy here and want to concentrate on Newcastle and try to do my best here.”
