At Empire of the Kop, we’re totally sold on the idea of Alisson as Liverpool’s new no.1.
In fact, if you offered us the Brazilian this January, and no direct Coutinho replacement, we’d probably take it – happy that with Virgil van Dijk already in – the backline has finally been fixed.
The 25-year-old starts for Roma and his country (ahead of Manchester City’s Ederson, by the way) and has been in outrageous form.
These stats are up there with David de Gea, and far, far better than Simon Mignolet or Loris Karius have ever offered.
Roma picked up a GK with two great seasons under his belt. But he's gone even better this season with only conceding 11 goals out of the almost 17 post shot xG. No matter how good he is that rate is not sustainable to the end of the season. But he's obviously great. pic.twitter.com/mvv9b9xCEx

Check him out for yourself below. He comes off his line and saves expertly from close-range or distance.
A much better option than Jack Butland, and we think Jan Oblak is probably unrealistic.
