How Trent rejected Manchester United is brilliant…

Trent Alexander-Arnold has just been called up to England’s World Cup squad and in eight days’ time, will play in a Champions League Final.

We can’t begin to imagine what this feels like, especially considering he’s a Scouser and massive Liverpool fan to boot.

How Klopp broke Trent’s World Cup news to 19-year-old is brilliant…

But back when he was still playing youth football, Manchester United beelined for him, after his uncle John Alexander, who was working as United’s secretary, recommended him to Sir Alex Ferguson.

Fergie directly spoke to Trent, but the kid’s response was legendary!

“My mum doesn’t drive on motorways,” the youngster told him, according to the Mirror.

You can’t say fairer than that…

We’re obviously delighted Trent stayed, as he’s the most exciting talent to come through our Academy since the likes of Steven Gerrard, Michael Owen and Jamie Carragher blossomed at the end of the 1990s.

He’s fast, strong, courageous, has a wicked right-footed delivery and is improving every week.

His biggest ever test though will be against Cristiano Ronaldo, the world’s most lethal striker.

Real Madrid will probably look to isolate our teenager, but so did Manchester City, and it just made Trent play better.
