Liverpool fans have been handed a Monday morning boost thanks to Mohamed Salah’s new five-year contract at Anfield.
The Egyptian has committed his future to the club until 2023, with his lucrative deal including no release clause amid rumoured interest from Real Madrid.
Reds have inevitably rejoiced over the forward’s extension on the back of his 44-goal campaign, in which he broke a Premier League record with 32 goals in a 38-game season.
His mammoth goal haul contributed to his PFA Player of the Year award as well as warranting an incredible seven Standard Chartered Player of the Month awards.
Salah is now one of the club’s highest earners just under a year after signing from Roma for £36.9million, following on from Roberto Firmino’s commitment to the club with a new five-year deal back in April.
The expectation is that Sadio Mane will be next in line to put pen to paper as Jurgen Klopp seeks to retain his squad in preparation for a Premier League title attack.
Here’s how Reds reacted to the Salah news on Twitter…
Salah signing a new 5 year deal with no release clause is bigger than any signing the club could make this summer. Absolutely incredible news. #LFC

The influence Klopp is having at Liverpool is enormous.
He is attracting world-class footballers to Anfield and convincing someone as special as Salah to stay long-term.

The Salah news is brilliant, it’s worth noting the role of Jurgen Klopp. We’ve seen some of our best players leave over recent years, Jurgen has the power to not only attract some of the best players, but to retain the ones we have.
Bobby is staying, now Salah.

That’s now Firmino and Salah tied down to new long-term contracts. As big as any signings we’ll make this summer. Hopefully Mané next.
