Fabinho’s shirt number and new boots revealed ahead of Liverpool debut

Fabinho has learned what number he will wear ahead of his Liverpool debut in Saturday’s friendly against Chester.

The Brazilian’s squad number is likely to change between pre-season and the start of the Premier League campaign, although it is yet to have been decided.

Liverpool’s summer signing will sport the no.3 shirt when Jurgen Klopp’s men start their preparations for the new season at the Swansway Chester Stadium, the club’s official website has confirmed.

The midfielder could line up alongside fellow new arrival Naby Keita following their respective moves from Monaco and RB Leipzig.

Fabinho’s wife Rebeca has also taken to Twitter to showcase the boots her partner will be wearing as he makes his Reds bow.

Klopp is expected to field experimental lineups either side of half-time as he works without a number of first team regulars due to their involvement at the World Cup.

It could mark a valuable opportunity to not only field Fabinho and Keita together, but also to test the likes of Curtis Jones and Ben Woodburn beside them.

Intriguing storylines are salient throughout the squad, with Danny Ward set to start his rejuvenated fight for Liverpool’s no.1 jersey ahead of Loris Karius.

Meanwhile, Divock Origi will be looking to get his pre-season off to a promising start in the hope of securing a place back in his manager’s first-team plans.
