Jurgen Klopp will not be able to call upon any of the four players who were involved in either the World Cup Final or Third Place Play Off.

That’s Jordan Henderson, Trent Alexander-Arnold (England), Simon Mignolet (Belgium) and Dejan Lovren (Croatia).

This has been reported by the Echo, who state that the quartet will get three weeks off and return to Melwood just one week before the West Ham clash.

Jurgen Klopp said: “They are back as well on August 5, I think, then we have a proper week to prepare the season.”

What’s more, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is still a long-term injury victim and won’t be in contention to return for some time.

Gini Wijnaldum is currently nursing a muscle problem, but he should be fit by the time the new season rolls around.

So, we reckon our starting XI at Anfield on August 12 could look something like this: Ward; Clyne, Robertson, van Dijk, Matip; Fabinho, Keita, Lallana, Mane, Salah, Firmino.

Of course, if we buy either Alisson or Nabil Fekir, that may look a little different.
