We earlier highlighted multiple reports from Italy, which suggested Liverpool had agreed a fee with AS Roma for €75m, predicting that pretty soon, Di Marzio would follow suit and then the English press would hop on board!
And now Fabrizio Romano, Di Marzio’s no.2, has confirmed a new bid of €75m has been tabled, with Alisson ‘closer’ to Liverpool than ever.

LFC agree fee for Alisson; €75m fee accepted; personal terms/medical required
He doesn’t say that it’s been accepted, but this is the price Roma initially asked for and a seemingly fair one for the Brazilian’s signature.

We’re very confident a fee will be officially agreed soon, if it hasn’t already.
Alisson was one of Europe’s very best keepers in 2017/18, helping Roma to a third placed finish in Serie A and the Champions League semi-finals.
He is a massive upgrade on Loris Karius, Simon Mignolet and Danny Ward, and we think two of that trio will have to depart once the 25-year-old arrives.
We’d like Ward as our primary backup, but the Welshman deserves first-team football somewhere and wouldn’t begrudge him a move as a result.
UPDATE:
Paul Joyce says Alisson bid accepted:
Liverpool agree fee with AS Roma for Alisson in region of £66m. Nothing to stop other clubs doing likewise, but Liverpool the first. Permission granted to speak to player.
