Medical done: LFC ace closes in on new club after loan contract terminated

Liverpool have reportedly terminated Anderson Arroyo’s loan contract at Mallorca after deciding he’d be better off joining Belgian side Gent instead.

According to Goal, the Reds have changed their minds about the youngster’s future for this season, and feel he should go to Gent over another spell at Mallorca, whom he’d looked set to join on loan again after spending last season with them.

Arroyo looks a promising young talent in defence, even if he’s perhaps still some way off linking up with our first-team.

The 18-year-old Colombian joined us in February this year before going out on loan, and it seems another temporary switch away is the best thing for his development right now.

Goal report that Arroyo has already had his medical ahead of completing his move to Gent by this weekend.

Hopefully this spell can go some way to giving him the experience he needs at a higher level in Europe, having only represented Mallorca’s B team in the second tier in Spain last season.
