Jurgen Klopp was brutally honest at the full-time whistle in Napoli, admitting the Reds got what they deserved when Lorenzo Insigne’s strike went in late on.
He told BT Sport: “The defeat is deserved. We don’t have to make a big story of it. We had our moments – everybody saw that – but too often we moved in the wrong spaces. We were not really spot on.”

The defeat means the Reds absolutely need to beat Red Star Belgrade both home and away and take something from their final two games in the group, too, and Klopp was disappointed with the performance.
He added: “We have to stay calm in situations like that. Not too much happened, especially in the first half. With the ball, we were to hectic when there was no reason. We had good moments, but for sure not enough.
“0-0, it’s a draw away; that’s absolutely OK, but then we make a big mistake before they score. We conceded already this season a similar goal.”
