David Lynch shares exciting team news; LFC could be full-strength v Red Star

Sadio Mane is training and is in contention to start against Red Star Belgrade tomorrow evening at Anfield.

What’s more, Trent Alexander-Arnold is likely to come in at right-back, having sat out our two most recent fixtures with Manchester City and Huddersfield.

Klopp: Why I’ve stopped Liverpool’s high-press…

This is according to respected Liverpool correspondent David Lynch, who writes for the Evening Standard.

Lynch reckons Roberto Firmino will also return to the starting XI, with the Brazilian starting next to Mane and Mo Salah in attack.

Last term, the trio were mindbogglingly effective in the Champions League and we’d love to see them start firing on all cylinders again against the underdog Serbs.

With Jordan Henderson and Naby Keita both doubts, we can see Jurgen Klopp giving Fabinho a rare start following his impressive cameo against Huddersfield on Saturday evening.

Gini Wijnaldum is also a certainty to start, with either Xherdan Shaqiri, Adam Lallana or James Milner making up the central three.

However, we think Virgil van Dijk may be given a rest in defence, considering he’s been playing through broken ribs and Red Star are not expected to offer too much of a threat going forward. Maybe Joe Gomez, who’s virtually been ever-present, might also get a break.

Here’s our predicted XI: Alisson; Trent, Robbo, Matip, Lovren; Fabinho, Wijnaldum, Milner; Mane, Salah, Firmino.
