After the disastrous performance against Red Star Belgrade on Tuesday, Reds captain Jordan Henderson has insisted the team will be able to perform much better against Fulham in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
Speaking to Liverpool’s official matchday programme, via LiverpoolFC.com, Henderson said: “Training on Wednesday at Melwood was as focused and sharp as you could have wished for, so it’s clear to me everyone is looking forward to the game today.
“I’m confident you’ll see a response from us this afternoon and we’ll be on the front foot from the first moment, looking to put everything right, from how we defend as a team through to how we attack.”
Henderson is now back fit again and is likely to start today; he will be crucial is setting the tempo. Hopefully, his return to the side can signal a return to winning ways.
