Liverpool to ‘War’ Manchester United for £22.8m rated star who can play anywhere in midfield – Report

Liverpool have been named alongside Barcelona, AC Milan and Manchester United as one of the sides ready to ‘go to war’ for Dani Olmo, reports Sport.

The 20-year-old currently plies his trade for Dinamo Zagreb, who according to the article, are looking for €25m for the playmaker whose talent has already seen him compared to Croatian great Luka Modric.

He’s comfortable on the wing, as a no.10 or in central midfield as a deep-lying controllers.

Olmo is Spanish, not Croatian, and developed his skills in Barcelona’s La Masia academy before being released and signing for Dinamo in 2015. In the Croatian leagues, he’s shone and is regarded as one of the country’s most exciting players, despite his young age.

In the video below, you can see some of his highlights from last season. It’s obvious his touch is spot on, but in truth, we don’t think there’s much he could offer our first-team straight away.

Actually, Spanish outlets like to put Liverpool’s name in rumours involving their big clubs, as it gives the story more pull – but we’d suggest that while we may have scouted Olmo – he isn’t a genuine target.

In fact, we hear from a good source that at the moment, Liverpool’s plan is to wait until the summer, before buying a readymade, elite playmaker who can offer us something straight away.
