Xherdan Shaqiri was the Liverpool hero against Manchester United, scoring twice off the bench to make it 3-1 at Anfield.
Substitutes coming on and making a big impact is becoming a theme this season: with new signings making the Reds’ squad much deeper, the quality Jurgen Klopp can bring off the sidelines has often been telling.
7 goals for LFC subs in the Premier League this season with Shaqiri's brace today. Only 3 in the whole of last season. 🔴⚽

That stat shows the improvement that Klopp now has to turn to when things need shaking up – Daniel Sturridge and Adam Lallana were not even called on against United, while the captain, Jordan Henderson, was even left out of the line-up. At the start of Klopp’s reign – and even last season – that definitely wasn’t the case.
With so much quality in reserve, it’s no wonder we keep winning games. If things aren’t going to plan, then changes are available for the boss to alter the course of the match.
Title-winning teams need quality to call upon, and the Reds certainly have it in abundance.
