Two young Liverpool fans left their dad beaming with pride with a touching gesture after Friday’s 2-0 win over Wolves at Molineux.
The travelling Kopites were the lucky recipients of James Milner’s shirt at full-time as the Reds celebrated securing top spot in the Premier League over Christmas.
Instead of keeping what many would cherish as life-long memento, the pair opted to give it to a supporter sitting in a wheelchair just in front of them.
Their father rightly took to social media to commend a beautiful and fitting moment of selflessness to mark the festive period.
Really appreciate @JamesMilner coming over to try and give his shirt to my boys tonight, but even more proud that they said to the steward to give to the lad in the wheelchair in front of us instead 👍🏻 pic.twitter.com/ZJeNTSBtdb

Not only did Friday see Liverpool extend their stunning unbeaten run and move four points clear at the top, but it also produced a timely reminder of what football is all about and what is most important at this special time of year.
It’s also worth noting Milner’s role, with the Reds’ vice-captain once again showing his class after another superb display.
Let’s hope the club picks up on the moment and sorts the duo out with a deserved early present.
