Journalist explains surprising reason for Clyne exit

To be honest, this makes us quite excited.

16-year-old Ki-Jana Hoever is rated so highly at Melwood, that Liverpool thought it ok to loan out Nathaniel Clyne for the reason of the season, with the 27-year-old England international moving to Bournemouth today.

Jurgen Klopp calls up gifted teenager – Liverpool’s U18s & U23s lose key man

Mirror correspondent Dave Maddock has claimed on Twitter that Fabinho, James Milner and the teenage Dutchman are now regarded as the three players who can cover Trent Alexander-Arnold in the role.

Hoever joined us from Ajax in the summer and has already been promoted to the U23s from the U18s.

As a result, he’s regularly training with the first-team and by all accounts, has impressed Jurgen Klopp tremendously.

With Clyne now exited, we think there’s a very small chance he may even make a debut (albeit from the bench) against Wolves in the FA Cup on Monday night.

Perhaps in the future we’ll see Trent in midfield and Hoever bombing up the right flank!

If you get a chance, watch some of his best bits from this season. He’s got a lot of Joe Gomez in him. Tall, athletic and composed. Going to be some player.
