Mane’s message to Reds supporters after 100th LFC appearance

Sadio Mane notched his 100th appearance in all competitions for the Reds against Brighton on Saturday afternoon, an achievement which he said he was ‘proud of’.

Known for being a quite reserved character, Mane kept his message to fans short post-match, but it was clear what it meant to him.

He posted on Instagram: “Great result and proud of my 100th game with my team, Liverpool. Thanks for the amazing support.”

The 26-year-old has scored 42 times in those 100 appearances, including scoring 10 in last season’s Champions League run and eight so far in this season’s Premier League campaign, and has become a really crucial part of the team.

He also came second to Mo Salah in the CAF Player of the Year awards earlier in the week, ahead of Naby Keita and Pierre Emerick Aubameyang.

Mane has been very impressive since signing for around £30 million from Southampton in Jurgen Klopp’s first summer at the club – hopefully, his next 100 appearances can be just as memorable.
