Virgil van Dijk loves his Liverpool song much that he hums along to it in the dressing room before games!
This is according to Andy Robertson, who was speaking in length to the official website after signing a contract extension until 2024.
“A lot more of the lads are getting songs now and they’re all getting appreciated. It was one of the big things for Virgil, I think – to get a song,” he said. “He is delighted, I heard him singing it in the changing room a couple of days ago – he loves it! It helps all of the lads, of course.”
Last season, the Mo Salah chant and the iconic Allez, Allez, Allez were the Kop’s favourites, but this term – Roberto Firmino’s and van Dijk’s have taken prominence!
Both are exceptional and will continue to ring around Anfield as long as those players keep doing the business.
Liverpool face Crystal Palace tomorrow at home, knowing nothing less than a win is required with Manchester City breathing down our necks in the race for the Premier League title.
Robbo, van Dijk and Bobby are all certainties to start, of course.
We haven’t played at Anfield since the 5-1 drubbing of Arsenal and we hope the atmosphere is just as electric.
