Potential LFC XI v Leicester if VVD can’t start, with Trent/Gomez also out

It’s looking like Virgil van Dijk may miss tomorrow night’s clash with Leicester with an illness, according to reports this morning in the Echo.

There’s a chance our Dutchman will pull through, but it depends on if he navigates training successfully today.

If he cannot play at Anfield, Jurgen Klopp will field fit again Dejan Lovren alongside Joel Matip at the back.

It’s a partnership that has come in for huge criticism in the past, so we only hope they’re up to the job of keeping Jamie Vardy, who always turns up against us, quiet.

At right-back, James Milner is suspended, and we predict Klopp will go with Fabinho rather than Rafa Camacho.

Thankfully, Andy Robertson is fine to play left-back and Alisson will obviously start between the sticks.

In midfield, Jordan Henderson can partner Gini Wijnaldum in the double-pivot, with Xherdan Shaqiri, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane our choices to play behind Mo Salah up top.

So, we reckon the Reds could take the field like this: Alisson; Fabinho, Robertson, Matip, Lovren; Henderson, Wijnaldum; Shaqiri, Firmino, Mane; Salah.

Leicester have lost three on the trot and Claude Puel is favourite to be the next manager sacked – but we have to be absolutely on our game in order to secure another vital win in the race for the Premier League title.
