United rocked by injuries that will change tactics v Liverpool

It’s been confirmed that Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard will both be injured and unavailable for the Liverpool game on February 24 next Sunday.

Sky Sports state that the duo, both a big part of the reason United have done so well under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, will miss two to three weeks of football – meaning the Old Trafford clash will definitely come too soon for them to make a return.

“It is a chance for anyone who plays, whether it is Alexis, Romelu or Angel (Gomes),” said the Norwegian, who admitted losing two of his key players for a few games will change his offensive plan.

“Anthony and Jesse have done really well for us, they are vital in the attacking parts with their pace.

“Romelu and Alexis have different skill sets, so we just need to gel a team together for Monday now.”

When United had Martial and Lingard on the field against PSG, they looked far more of a threat than when the duo exited and were replaced by the cumbersome Lukaku and defensively ill-disciplined Sanchez.

It’s definitely an advantage for us, but United have been unbeaten in the Premier League under Solskjaer and will be desperate to put a dent in our title bid.

This will help their other rivals, Manchester City, in their bid for glory – but that doesn’t seem to bother any United supporters who are adamant that us achieving success will be the greater evil!

All the more reason why securing the Premier League this year will be so brilliant…

First up it’s Bayern Munich on Tuesday, before we prepare for next weekend’s tie.

Bring it on!
