Klopp hopeful Oxlade-Chamberlain will be fit in two weeks

Big news!

Speaking during his pre-match press conference before Liverpool’s weekend clash with Fulham, Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that he is hopeful of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain being fit after the international break.

Oxlade, I heard nothing new about it so there’s no rush now. Of course not for the weekend anyway, but in general after international break he will be 100 per cent fit,” he’s quoted as saying by Liverpoolfc.com.

Chambo hasn’t played for Liverpool’s senior team for over 11 months; but he did feature for our U23s against Derby earlier this month.

Have a watch of the video below to see how he performed:

There was a slight cause for concern when the midfielder was taken off just before half-time, but it now seems that his recovery is still very much on track.

Klopp had another bit of positive news for fans and it’s about Naby Keita. “We have to see if [Keita] can train today,” he said.

The boys come in a bit later today. [He had] a couple of checks – it was positive until now but we have to see if it stays positive when he goes outside.”

Our number eight didn’t travel with the rest of the squad when they left for Germany this week because of a minor injury, but it’s now looking like he’ll be involved with the first team again soon.
