Klopp suggests Shaqiri may return for Liverpool v. Spurs

Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Xherdan Shaqiri should be available for Liverpool as they host Spurs at Anfield this weekend.

Speaking ahead of the all star Premier League clash, Klopp explained that the speedy Swiss has recovered from a groin injury.

[Shaqiri is] good, much better. Since a couple of weeks [ago], has had some problems with the groin. He trained, not how he could train, but was still in the squad and all that stuff because we didn’t have a lot of options,” he’s quoted as sating by football.london.

Now he feels better day by day and should be fine for the weekend.”

Shaqiri has totted up 21 appearances for the Reds this season – more than I’d actually realised, that. He’s managed six goals in those games and will surely be out to impress further.

Spurs pose as one of the most difficult fixtures we have left in the Premier League this season and we can use all the help we can get.

On our own merits, we’re more than capable of seeing off the Londoners but it wouldn’t hurt to have options off the bench – especially given Mo Salah’s relative goal draught.

Shaqiri really showed his worth to Klopp when he came off the bench against Manchester United to bag twice and win us the game. Here’s hoping, if he comes on, he does it again!
