Despite being interviewed post-match with his ankle strapped up, Virgil van Dijk looks to be fit and ready to play against Southampton on Friday night.
The Dutchman was pictured training with his teammates at Melwood, trying to give Alisson Becker a run for his money, ahead of the trip to St Mary’s to face up against his old club.

Van Dijk sustained the injury after even more heroic defending against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, but it seems his ankle complaint is not as serious as was previously thought.
Against Spurs, he read the game like an open book by shutting out Moussa Sissoko and Son Heung-min’s threatening counter forcing the Frenchman to blaze his shot over the bar.
Klopp: “Virgil has trained normally. It all looks okay.”

We’re running out of superlatives to describe the 27-year-old colossus and without him our defence lacks composure and the ability to completely marshal and contain the opposition.
The Dutch defender looks to be a shoo-in for the Player of the Year award as the Reds chase silverware both domestically and in Europe.
With the Saints up next Van Dijk will surely be eager to get himself back on the pitch down on the south coast to show off his £75 million credentials.
For their part, Southampton fans are likely to boo the player who tried to force is way to Anfield back in the summer of 2017.
But the world-record transfer was completed in January last year and neither we, nor Van Dijk, have ever looked back.
