Richarlison reacts as Brazilian outlet claims Klopp met with Everton star’s agent regarding €70m potential transfer

Well, this is about as weird a transfer rumour as we’ve seen in some time.

The usually reliable UOL from Brazil have reported that Jurgen Klopp has had several meetings with the agent of Everton striker Richarlison, Renato Velasco.

They claim that an offer of around €70m would be required to tempt Everton into selling us their star player, who’s scored 12 goals in the Premier League so far.

Despite the source being a good one, we just can’t see any element of truth in this. Everton would simply not sell us their 21-year-old Brazilian, especially not for just €20m more than they spent on him last summer!

What’s more, the player has come out with a tweet clearly aimed at his side’s supporters, letting them know ‘he’s happy’.

Privately, we reckon he’d jump at the chance of a switch. He wouldn’t have to move house and would instead start representing one of the best teams in Europe rather than Marco Silva’s Also-Rans.

A new attacker will almost certainly come from somewhere else, though.

Rhian Brewster will bolster the offence, but a wing-forward to ease the pressure from the shoulders of Mo Salah and Sadio Mane will be pivotal if we genuine ambitions of competing on four fronts in 2019/20.
