Mohamed Salah, the Egyptian King, has taken back his rightful place on the throne.
With the game locked in at 1-1, Southampton lost the ball in our box and quick-thinking from Jordan Henderson allowed him to head the ball to the expectant Salah.
From our own half, he led the break to the edge of the box, ignored Bobby Firmino to his left and picked his spot to score his 50th Liverpool goal in 69 games: the fastest Red to ever do so.
The ecstatic Egyptian ended his drought in style by making it 2-1.
He ripped off his shirt with uncontrolled joy; but, when Jordan Henderson and Andy Robertson tried to get in on the act, Salah ducked to bask in his majesty and the crowd’s jubilation.
