Jurgen Klopp wins Premier League award

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has been named Premier League Manager of the Month for March.

The announcement comes on the same day Roberto Firmino was confirmed as Champions League Player of the Week.

The Reds began the month with a visit to Goodison Park, but the Reds weren’t able to penetrate Everton’s defence and the game ran out a goalless draw.

We bounced back the following week as Klopp’s men turned over Burnley 4-2 in an entertaining battle, raising spirits that were dampened by the Merseyside Derby.

The big one comes in the form of a Champions League visit to the Allianz Arena in Munich.

Liverpool only managed a 0-0 draw at Anfield the month earlier, but dominated a lowly Bayern and ended up 3-1 winners against the probable Bundesliga champions.

The Reds struggled against relegation-threatened Fulham at Craven Cottage, but managed to overturn a 1-1 scoreline to win 2-1 with an 81th minute penalty.

Ryan Babel even managed to get himself on the score-sheet, but couldn’t have looked less like he wanted to score.

The best teams make their own luck and that was the case for at Anfield when Tottenham popped up for a visit.

Spurs held their own, but the pressure applied by Klopp’s men saw them crumble late on as Liverpool took a 2-1 lead in the 90th minute through a Toby Alderweireld own goal.
