Klopp confident Liverpool can succeed in both UCL and PL

Speaking ahead of Liverpool’s important clash with Cardiff City in the Premier League this Sunday, Jurgen Klopp has issued some fighting talk.

Our boss is confident the Reds can compete at the highest level in both the UEFA Champions League and the Premier League.

We are not tired. It’s a decisive period of the season. It’s good to be involved in these two competitions – it’s a sign of success,” he told Liverpool Echo reporters at Melwood.

You can imagine training is low intensity, we don’t need to do a lot as most important sessions are the ones we play.

Liverpool have four remaining fixtures in the league and are up against Barcelona in the semi-finals of the UCL.

The term ‘war cry’ is thrown around a lot when a manager makes a strong claim like Klopp has, but I do like the idea that he actually shouted it out at the press conference – a bit like how Dave Maddock has suggested here!

A win for the Reds this weekend would make sure we’re still atop the Premier League table going into next week and will keep the pressure on Manchester City as they face fierce rivals United.

The Citizens are up against Tottenham this weekend in an early kick-off. Spurs have performed excellently in their last two games against City – hopefully they’re up for it again!
