Klopp mulling over potential Oxlade-Chamberlain return

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is still recovering from an injury since the end of last season, but it now appears we may get to see him before the end of this one.

Jurgen Klopp is thinking of naming Chambo in the match-day squad after the midfielder spent the week building up his fitness at Melwood.

Joe [Gomez] looked good. Will he start? We’ll see. We have a lot of players with a lot of rhythm but it’s good to have him. It’s the same with Ox. It’s very good to have them back and in contention,” he’s quoted as saying by the Liverpool Echo.

We are not tired! It’s a decisive period of the season and it’s good to be involved in two competitions. It’s a sign of success.

Dejan [Lovren] was ill but he should be available again. Pretty much all the rest should be available. I heard nothing serious after Porto.”

Lovren has recovered from an illness in time for our trip to Cardiff and is in contention to play as Klopp assesses options as the end of the season nears.

The boss has plenty of options now as Gomez as brought off the bench against Porto to earmark his return to first-team football.

The Reds travel to Wales this Sunday and are hoping to cement a lead at the top of the Premier League table, with Manchester City playing Spurs over the weekend.
