Emre Can appears to take dig at Liverpool after Juve title win

Juventus were crowned champions of Italy last night – 20 points clear of Napoli with five games left – and the players have been celebrating their success with fans on social media.

One player’s post did interest us though – and it’s that of former Liverpool man Emre Can.

The German gave it the usual, but there’s something he’s said that a few other people have picked up on too.

It’s likely he’s not even thinking about the Reds but I can’t shake the feeling that “I came to this amazing club to…win trophies” is a little jab to the ribs for Liverpool.

I mean, to be fair, Emre did pick a club where he was guaranteed silverware; Juventus have won eight (8) Serie A league titles on the bounce.

The Old Lady, knocked out of the Champions League by Ajax last week, won the Scudetto while second placed Napoli have six games remaining. Unreal.

In contrast, it’s been seven years since the Reds last won a trophy and Emre’s four year stay at Anfield was littered with only close calls.

Several others have picked up on the potential dig at Liverpool in Can’s Tweet, laughing at people who apparently said the midfielder would regret leaving us.
