After Gini Wijnaldum put us ahead in the second half against Cardiff yesterday, Mohamed Salah won a penalty after being wrestled to the ground by Sean Morrison.
The Egyptian wanted to convert the spot kick, but it was James Milner who despatched it in the end.
There has been some controversy surrounding the manner the penalty, with many Reds fans upset that Milner deprived Salah of taking pole position for the Golden Boot.
But, at root, Jürgen Klopp’s side is all about the collective and Milner is our designated pen taker – ten of his past 12 goals have been from the spot and he is so dependable at taking them.
Salah has taken six penalties for Liverpool, scoring five of them (most recently in a 1-0 win at Brighton in January).
Yes Milner is number one for penalty kicks but Salah wanted to be the league’s top scorer and we’re ahead and it will increase his confidence. I really feel bad for Mo! pic.twitter.com/XCoDa0PjPO
