Rafa Camacho to be used as makeweight for Benfica starlet, state Portuguese outlet

Rafael Camacho made himself known to fans ahead of this season by putting in some shifts at right-back for Liverpool on tour.

The 18-year-old has since played 90 minutes for the Reds senior team in the FA Cup and has seemingly been left to stew.

The youngster recently appeared to have a go at Jurgen Klopp on social media, but has since doubled-down on his admiration of the manager.

Fair play to the lad for quashing the rumours, but there’s now reports that the Portuguese attacker is on his way out of the club.

Diario Record have reported that Liverpool are set to use Camacho in a deal which would see 22-year-old centre-back Ferro join the Reds.

I can’t speak of the reliability of the outlet, but I just can’t see any sense in this deal.

Klopp has Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, Joel Matip and Dejan Lovren at his disposal – why would we want some lad who has just broke into the Benfica team? There’s been no whispers of our defenders angling for a move.

It seems convenient that a young, talented Portuguese football is rumoured to be heading for the exit door around the same time Ferro is linked with a move to Liverpool by the Metro.
