Here’s a little bit of light relief before the stress of the Champions League engulfs us all tomorrow!
(Not that we’re complaining, of course…)
Alan Shearer, a mightily experienced pundit who’s been paid to speak football on TV for years, finds Manchester United’s plight so pitiful he simply couldn’t hold back last night.
When discussing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s predicament, Shearer – in a studio of other suit-wearing football analysts – calmly and precisely declared that United are ‘f*cked’.
“I mean, at the minute – in terms of football teams – Man. United are f*cked,” he said – before immediately realising what he did and apologising!
He’s spot on of course. They have a manager who might be sacked before the summer, a host of ridiculously overpaid players who don’t want to be there and a completely incoherent boardroom making footballing decisions that baffle everyone.
Having supporting United for 90 minutes during their recent tie with City, we’re not even sure we’d wish watching a team that useless on their fans!
