With ten minutes left on the clock before half-time, Sadio Mané was unfortunate to miss a big opportunity to put the Reds level with Barcelona.
On for the injured Naby Keïta, Jordan Henderson swung in a searching ball into the centre. It had too much on it for Mo Salah but fell straight to Sadio Mane flanked by two Barça defenders in the box.
Free in the centre, with just the keeper to beat, Mané tried to lob the bouncing ball over Ter Stegen but could only add a touch that lifted it high over the bar.
It was a huge change to get one back for us, but we’ll be hoping for more of them.
