Robertson further endears himself to Reds by staying late at St James’ Park

Andrew Robertson is not just arguably the best full-back in the world right now, he’s also an absolute class act. Not content with just racking up 13 assists from left-back this season, he’s now gone and given us even more reason to love him.

According to Sky Sports’ North East Correspondent, Keith Downie – who was at St James’ Park last night – Robbo stuck around the ground well after the whistle had gone attending to his media duties and spending time with Reds fans who had made the trip to Tyneside.

The 25-year-old has clearly not forgotten his humble beginnings in the lower leagues of Scottish football, despite his career skyrocketing to new heights with us as well as taking on the captain’s armband for Scotland.

It’s stories like this one, together with his charisma and affable attitude – let alone his dynamic and breathless performances in red – that have made Robbo a firm fan favourite at Anfield.

Speaking to Liverpoolfc.com, the Scot also showed his camaraderie“The lads who have been left at home and lads who are on the bench and haven’t come on, they are buzzing for us and there’s no egos in this squad and that’s why we are where we are today and long may it continue.

He’s so established in the squad now, it’s easy to forget that this is only his second season at the club since arriving from Hull for £8 million back in the summer of 2017.
