Klopp confirms fitness of key player ahead of CL final with Spurs

Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Roberto Firmino will be fit to face Spurs in the Champions League final at the beginning of next month.

The forward hasn’t played since the Reds’ 3-0 humbling in Spain – just under two weeks ago.

Divock Origi has since filled in for his team-mate and bagged three goals in the two games. Bobby may find it difficult to oust the Belgian from his starting place!

The Brazilian won’t be back for Wolves’ visit to Anfield though. Klopp told the Reds’ official website: “Bobby not [available] for the weekend, but we have time [before the Champions League final] and that should be enough.”

The lads are in a position where they could win the Premier League title against the midlands club. Such a scenario requires Manchester City to drop points away at Brighton and Hove Albion, but we live in hope!

It’s this never say die attitude that has taken us all the way to the last game of the season with a shout in the title race.

Having Bobby back for the CL final is huge for us – he’s fundamental to the way we play; his pressing so high up the pitch forces errors from opposition defenders and, with Mo Salah and Sadio Mane breathing down their necks, we punish those mistakes.
