£25m transfer heats up as multiple suitors join race for young Reds star – Sky Sports

Sky Sports are reporting that Premier League clubs, Newcastle, Southampton, Crystal Palace, and Brighton are all keen to complete a transfer for Reds loanee Harry Wilson.

After Wolves were linked with the Welshman, the Reds set a substantial £25m price on the head of the talented young winger. The Crystal Palace link, however, is apparently dependent on whether Wilfried Zaha is sold this summer.

If he does leave Anfield on a permanent deal, it will be because of the 22-year-old’s impressive season out on loan with Frank Lampard’s Derby side: he’s the Rams’ top scorer with 18 this campaign.

The Rams could also attempt to keep him among their ranks if they manage to beat Aston Villa at Wembley in the Championship play-offs and achieve promotion to the top-flight.

Sky Sports also suggest that Bundesliga sides, Augsburg, Hertha Berlin and Frankfurt have registered their interest in the attacking Wales international, with clubs in Spain keeping their ears close to the ground on the situation too.

Of course, with the Reds keen to add another versatile attacker to their options up front, Wilson could also elect to stay and fight for his place under Jürgen Klopp.

But with competition fierce – and potentially futile – at Liverpool, Klopp might be tempted to cash in on a Michael Edwards-inspired fee for the young winger who clearly deserves to be playing first-team football somewhere.

Wilson could also be shipped out on loan – possibly to the Derby side he could help promote.
