Sadio Mane and Mo Salah have been Liverpool’s biggest attacking threat this season, and if the Reds are to lift the Champions League trophy you’d likely have money on either one of the stars to grab a goal.
The Senegalese international has reportedly told Mo that if he bags in the final against Spurs then the ‘Egyptian King’ must take him to a famous mosque in Egypt, but if our number 10 scores it’s a different story entirely.
Mane has promised Mo that if he finds the back of the net in Madrid then the former Southampton star will reward him with a new pet. “I told Mo Salah if he scores a goal in Champions League final, he will take me to visit Al-Azhar in Egypt,” Sadio is quoted as saying by ourafricanfootball.com.
“And if I score, I will give him a lion as a gift.”
Both lads will be desperate to score in the final as they had to share the Premier League’s Golden Boot award with Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Lionel Messi surely has the top spot in this season’s Champions League surely boxed off – the Argentine international has found the back of the net 12 times.
Bobby Firmino, Salah and Mane have 12 goals between them in Europe’s elite competition this season, and one of them would need to hit eight in the final to share the award.
It just goes to show how special Lio is, but does he have a lion? I think not.
