Rafa Benitez sounds warning ahead of Champions League final

Former Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez has made his prediction ahead of Saturday night’s Champions League final in Madrid, and it’s not a surprise that he’s backing the Reds.

The Spaniard has warned Tottenham Hotspur that Jurgen Klopp’s men will fly out of the gates at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium.

The Lillywhites are preparing to contest in their first ever Champions League final tonight, and the Reds are hoping to lick their wounds after falling at last year’s summit to Real Madrid.

Rafa thinks Liverpool will come out all guns blazing on Saturday night. “Liverpool will try to start with intensity from the first minute, and Tottenham will try to manage it,” he told Sky Sports News.

It depends if Pochettino decides to play four at the back or five at the back and whether they will have more options to keep the ball.

We will see how Tottenham manage this pressure. If they can keep the ball, they are quite dangerous with players between the lines. But if Tottenham are attacking high, Liverpool are quite dangerous also on the counter-attack.

The former Liverpool manager is sitting pretty high on the fence on this one – clearly he doesn’t want to come across too pro-LFC, but it sounds as if he’s backing the Reds.

Liverpool have made it to three European finals in as many years and will be hoping to finally get their first piece of silverware under Klopp.

What a way to win your first trophy at Anfield – just like Rafa did!
