Real Madrid star linked with Liverpool; but ignore the suggestion

Real Madrid star Gareth Bale has been linked with a move to Liverpool amid suggestions Zinedine Zidane doesn’t see a future for the Welshman at the Bernabeu.

Spanish journalist Eduardo Inda claims, via the Daily Mail, that the Reds are just one of two clubs interested in securing the services of the former Tottenham Hotspur winger.

Frankly – it’s a ridiculous suggestion. Bale would cost in excess of £100million and his extraordinary wages of £350,000 per week, as per the Guardian, would make it hard for most clubs to sign him.

The potential signing has Manchester United written all over it. The only other clubs I could see splashing out on Bale is PSG and Man City, but they’re not in dire need of a new forward.

The other club that Inda claims are interested in Bale makes a lot more sense – he says that our Champions League final opponents are trying to re-sign their crestfallen star.

With Christian Eriksen reportedly being considered by Real Madrid, as per ESPN, there could be a deal in which a player goes either way and some money exchanges hands.

You’d have to expect Real to demand – at least – an extra £40million in a trade. The only question this raises is – who do Spurs then get to replace Eriksen?
