Mohamed Salah is a special player. We know this, the world knows this, and even if they don’t want to admit it, the Premier League knows it.

A statistic has emerged on social media of the Egyptian’s goal contributions over the last two season, and only the generational Lionel Messi has bettered our winger.

Since the start of the 2017/18 season, Salah has scored 71 goals and registered 29 assists. Bayern’s Robert Lewandowski isn’t far behind – the Polish international has bagged 81 times, but is slightly let down (relatively speaking) by his 18 assists.

Messi is the only player to have managed to put up better numbers than the Egyptian king. The Argentine skipper has somehow found the net 96 times and has registered an incredible 40 assists.

Enjoy the Barcelona man while he lasts – seriously, there may never be another player on his level again in our lifetime.

Salah and Messi recently met on the field in the Champions League, and it was the Liverpool man who had the last laugh as the Reds ran out 4-3 winners on aggregate to reach, and win in, the Madrid final.

Naturally, Juventus’ Cristiano Ronaldo makes follows Lewandowski in the list – the Nations League winner has scored 72 times in the last two years, and set up team-mates on 18 occasions.
