Liverpool look set to complete the signing of young Dutch defender Sepp van den Berg from PEC Zwolle. The 17-year-old is booked in to undergo his medical for the Reds today ahead of a £1.79million move, according to the Telegraph.
Bayern Munich and Ajax were desperate to sign the Netherlands U23s star, but van den Berg has been convinced to link up with fellow countrymen at Virgil van Dijk, Georginio Wijnaldum and Ki-Jana Hoever at Anfield.
Given the age of van den Berg, it’s safe to say that he’d be one for the future. His 20 senior appearances for Zwolle last season won’t go unnoticed though, and Jurgen Klopp may be willing to give him a chance in one of the domestic cups this upcoming season.
Amid the speculation, van den Berg’s representatives – Key Sports Management – has shared a video of their client’s highlights from last season, and it’s safe to say Klopp as bagged himself a gem.

The Zwolle prodigy is bound to be likened to Liverpool stalwart van Dijk, but Joe Gomez would be a better comparison because of their similar career paths thus far.
The young centre-back broke into the senior team in the second half of the 2018/19 season, and earned himself a regular place on the bench – at 17, van den Berg has already made 22 Eredivisie appearances.
