The mind-boggling Alisson stat we can finally appreciate as Brazilian ends his season

Can a goalkeeper win a Ballon d’Or?! Probably not – and in all honesty – there have been players who outperformed Alisson in the 2018/19 campaign – but certainly no goalkeepers!

Brazil beat Peru 3-1 last night to clinch the Copa America, meaning Liverpool’s stopper is heading on holiday as a Champions League winner and with an international medal around his neck to boot.

Outrageously, for club and country, Ali racked up 36 clean-sheets in total since the beginning of the season – the same number as goals he conceded.

That’s unbelievable…

We’d suggest that this form proves Alisson is currently the leading keeper on the planet, and as Liverpool fans, we definitely wouldn’t swap him for anyone.

To think; just over a year ago we were debating about whether we’d give Loris Karius another chance between the sticks, or go into the new year with Danny Ward as the starting stopper.

Now, we have a 26-year-old Alisson to rely upon – quite possibly for the next decade.
