Premier League sides queue up for £20m+ rated ace – but he should stay put

A host of Premier League sides including Brighton, Bournemouth and Aston Villa are keen on signing Harry Wilson this summer, according to the Brighton and Hove Independent.

Wolves and Leicester City have also been linked with a move for the Welshman over the last few weeks after a season which saw him score 18 times for Derby County under now-Chelsea boss Frank Lampard.

Jurgen Klopp is short of attacking options with Sadio Mane set to miss the start of the season given he is still playing at the African Cup of Nations for Senegal, while Xherdan Shaqiri is currently injured and could miss the pre-season trip to the USA, and maybe longer.

As such, Wilson has a big chance during the upcoming matches to make a real difference. Play well in a few of the games to come before the season properly gets underway, and he could be promised enough game time at his boyhood club to convince him to stay put.

The winger has huge talent and it would be a massive shame for him to not even give it one season with the Reds’ first-team – we’d definitely like to see him stay at Anfield and be an excellent squad option.

At 22, he has time on his side in terms of his whole career. Wilson should stay for a season, and if he then feels he needs to go elsewhere to get more time on the pitch, so be it. Leave now, though, and he’d always be left wondering if he should have stayed.
