(Video) Hoever discusses “special experience” of Reds’ USA pre-season tour

Ki-Jana Hoever is one of many youngsters that Jürgen Klopp has taken with him on the Reds pre-season tour of the United States as the precocious defender is looking to build on his first-team debut.

Having made his senior bow as a subsitute for Dejan Lovren in the FA Cup tie against Wolves, Hoever has been played in pre-season games against Tranmere and Bradford ahead of the upcomng season.

Capable of playing at right-back and centre-back, the young Dutchman could be a potential asset to Klopp’s defensive options going into the 2019/20 campaign.

What strikes us the most about his interview here is the modesty and maturity he shows for a player so young. “It’s a special experience,” he says. “I don’t think a lot of 17-year-old boys have got it. I’m really thankful for that and I’m really happy.”

Under the supportive influence of compatriots Virgil van Dijk and Gini Wijnaldum, this pre-season could be a chance for Hoever to settle himself and learn a great deal about what it means to be a Liverpool player.

If you sign up to LFCTVGO, there’s plenty of clips to watch – which shows fans what happens at Melwood and beyond during pre-season.

We’d urge you to do so, as it also enables you to watch the friendlies as well, but if you want to see the Hoever video we mentioned, you can do so via this link.
