Liverpool starting XI v. Dortmund; Klopp names strong midfield trio

Posted by

Jurgen Klopp has opted for a strong midfield trio and a senior defensive duo for the Dortmund fixture as part of the Reds’ pre-season tour of the US.

Simon Mignolet starts in goal with a defensive quartet of Joel Matip, Joe Gomez, Nathaniel Clyne and youngster Yasser Larouci.

Fabinho, James Milner and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain make up a powerful midfield trio as Klopp is surely looking to get a result against his former club.

Harry Wilson and Ryan Kent maintain their starting place, but Divock Origi makes the cut in Notre Dame ahead of Rhian Brewster and Bobby Duncan.

Adam Lallana and Duncan are missing as they’ve reportedly sustained injuries.

No set XI for the second half has been named, but with players like Rhian Brewster on the bench it is to be expected that Klopp will rotate the team throughout the game.
