Wolverhampton Wanderers star Ruben Neves has been talking about supporters in the Premier League and how they compare with one another.
The Portuguese international reckons that his club has the best fans in the country, but does admit that Liverpool supporters are the next best.
Neves is one of seven Portuguese footballers at Wolves – eight if you include the boss as well – and says he feels at home in the Midlands.
“I feel at home in Wolverhampton. It is unbelievable the way that the fans receive all the players at the club,” he told the Mirror.
“There is only one club in the Premier League who can get close to our fans in the way they support the team – and that is Liverpool.
“Our fans are the best and they make our stadium the most difficult place for other teams, so I am not thinking about other clubs.”
He has to say that his club have the best fans in the Premier League, but it’s a huge compliment that he even felt the need to mention ours.
Neves was also asked about his future, but he claims that he’s more than happy at Wolves and wants to see how far the club can climb.
“I just focus on my job to help Wolves become a better team and to achieve great things,” he said. “I have people who advise me on things like that, so I can just play my football. That’s what I love to do.”
The Portuguese midfielder was linked with a move to Anfield in 2018, as per journalist Marcus Alves – via TalkSPORT, but nothing came of the rumours.
Given his abilities and levelheadedness, something we saw as he stuck a strike as sweet as a nut least year to eliminate us from the FA Cup, it’d be no surprise if Jurgen Klopp did want him.
